Our Team

Annalisa Moore became the Executive Director of CLC Schools in July 2017, after having filled several leadership roles at Nea CLC since 2013. She is a dedicated educator with more than ten years of administrative experience and over three years in the classroom. She holds a Masters in Education, a multi-subject teaching credential, and a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Youth Services and Administration.

When serving as a Grant Manager with the Alameda Unified School District, Annalisa managed a multi-million dollar budget, oversaw 78 staff, and provided intervention and after-school programs across four elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. Annalisa later joined The Academy of Alameda, a start-up charter school, as their Dean of Students in 2011. In this role, she shifted school culture through programmatic reforms that resulted in a significant decrease in disciplinary issues and improved academic performance ratings each year.

Annalisa believes deeply in CLCS's child-centered and project-based approach. As a 4th-generation educator, she has a passion for learning and understands what is needed to support learner success. She is eager to continue developing CLCS's innovative curriculum. Annalisa is also deeply committed the Alameda community and its youth. When she is not busy at work, you can find her at home with her husband and three children.

Theresa Quigley became the Chief Operations Officer in 2013 and oversees work in Human Resources, Facilities, Technology, Risk, Financial Management and more. Theresa has over 30 years of experience in operations planning and management. Before coming to CLCS, she worked in operations at an elementary school in Los Gatos, CA, at a consulting firm for Silicon Valley tech companies, and as a member of the United States Air Force.

Theresa loves project planning and process improvement and she loves serving the children, families, and staff at ACLC and Nea. Theresa has lived in San Jose for 25 years and is a transplant from just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Mercedes Hudson joined the CLCS team as Director of Special Education in 2023. She brings over 15 years of experience working in general and special education settings to ensure that high quality services are equitably provided to students and families throughout the Bay Area. Before joining the CLCS team, Mercedes worked as a School Psychologist with the Seneca Family of Agencies, in partnership with charter and public schools, providing academic, behavioral, and social emotional services to meet the individual needs of students and support the development and improvement of special education programs. She has also worked in the role of Dean of Students, Behavior Support Specialist, Education Coach and as a Youth for Justice Program and Outreach Coordinator. 

Mercedes was born and raised in Oakland, California. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel Jr. and 3 boys, Daniel III, Dyson, and Drew. She is passionate about the work of special education and committed to supporting learners, families, and staff at ACLC and Nea.

Becky Freeman joined Nea as a staff member in 2015 but has been an active member of Nea's community since 2011.  She grew up in England and earned her LLB in Business Law before completing her Masters in Criminal Justice.  A passionate educator, Becky spent the next four years researching youth victimization for her PhD and teaching criminology to undergraduates.  She became deeply involved with the local community, working with youth homelessness, and those caught in a life of juvenile crime.  It was during this time that she realized that she wanted to work in the field of education and support young people at risk.

Becky moved to the Bay Area with her husband back in 2001.  They have two children who both attend Nea. In 2015 she received the Salute to Education honor from Alameda Education Foundation in recognition of her dedication to Nea. She currently serves on the PTSA Executive Board, and the Personnel, Program Evaluation, and Curriculum Committees.   Becky loves working at a school she is deeply invested in. 

Nathaly Garcia joined CLCS as HR & Business Associate in 2021. She is committed to creating an environment in which ACLC and Nea staff can thrive and focus on the success of both schools. Nathaly came to CLCS with communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills from over five years of experience in HR and medical office administration.

Originally from Los Angeles, Nathaly moved to the Bay Area in 2017 and has been enamored with the vibrant community and diverse culture ever since. In her personal life, she loves nothing more than spending quality time with her partner Luis and her son Aizen, who is a Nea learner.

Courtenay Bell joined Nea as Special Education Lead in 2017 and became Special Education Manager in 2019. She received her Master's degree in Special Education as well as her Multiple Subject and Special Education teaching credentials from San Francisco State University. While there she also completed Pamela Wolfberg's "Project Mosaic" Autism Specialization Certification.  Courtenay also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and illustration from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Courtenay has taught a variety of grades and subjects including K-5 elementary, high school English, Biology, and resource, as well as workshops in arts and crafts including puppetry, woodshop and painting. She enjoys working with ACLC and Nea learners.

Kira Foster became the Admissions & Marketing Manager in 2018, after serving as the ACLC School Manager for five years. Prior to joining CLCS, Kira worked as a public health researcher for 12 years at UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. She holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology.

Kira loves learning, being around young people, and supporting the families and staff at ACLC and Nea. She grew up in Fresno, CA and is the proud parent of an ACLC alum. Having lived on three continents, she finds the ACLC and Nea communities as interesting, complex and vibrant as any in which she has worked or lived.
